Boat carrying Bihar pilgrims capsizes in Ganga
Varanasi, Oct 3: At least three persons were drowned when a boat carrying pilgrims from Bihar capsized in river Ganga here.
Officials of the district administration said 18 pilgrims from Baheria village in Bihar's Bhabua district were going to the east bank of the river for pilgrimage when the boat capsized near Dumaria village.
While 15 of the passengers swam to safety, three persons were drowned. The divers have fished out bodies of the victims, which included two women and a child.
Four of those who managed to escape have been admitted to a local hospital where condition of one is stated to be critical, additional district magistrate Indravikram Singh said.
