AP CM 'sees' evil designs to derail N-Deal

Hyderabad, Oct 3 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today alleged that some ''evil designs and forces'' were creating obstacles for the Centre in operationalize the nuclear deal with the United States.

Inaugurating the ninth global plant of Schneider Electric in the city here, he said the nuclear deal was aimed at meeting the energy needs of the country and not against any country.

Dr Reddy said, China was negotiating with various countries to procure Uranium for their nuclear power projects.

''Nuclear energy is essential for the country to meet the growing industrial and domestic needs, he added'' Stating that the deal would give India access to nuclear fuel and equipment, he said some forces were trying to derail the deal without verifying facts. ''The nuclear deal will prove to be very useful as power could be supplied to industrial units at a cheaper rate.'' He said France had evinced interest in cooperating with India in its nuclear needs.

He called upon French Industrialists to set up their ventures in the state and offered logistic support.
