Three kids drown in Bhandara

Nagpur, Oct 2 (UNI) Three children drowned in the swirling waters of a river in Bhandara district of Vidarbha region in Maharashtra today.

The three children, all students of the same school, had gone to village Khamata, about eight kilometres from Bhandara on the banks of the river Wainganga, for a picnic to celebrate the birthday of one of them this afternoon, police said.

While there, they entered the water for a swim, but the current was so strong that all of them were swept away. None of the bodies have been found so far, and a search is on, the police said.

One of the children has been identified as Vijay Hasrani (14), while the identity of the other two has not been established yet, they added.
