Tokyo, Oct 2 (UNI) Sania Mirza and her American partener Christina Fusano cruised into the quarter-final of the Japan Open beating Polish-Romanian duo of Urszula Radwanska and Agnes Szatmari in straight sets here today.
The Indo-American pair easily overcame Radwanska-Szatmari duo's challenge 6-3, 6-2 to book their last eight berth in the 1,75,000 dollar Tier III WTA event.
In the quarter-final, Sania and Fusano will meet the winner of the match between second seeded Chinese pair of Tiantian Sun and Zi Yan and local duo of Rika Fujiwara and Junri Namigata.
In the singles, Sania, yesterday, breezed past local challenger Ayumi Morita 6-0, 6-4 to storm into the pre quater-finals.
The 20-year-old Hyderabadi will be up against Australian Cassey Dellacqua in the next round.
