Jaipur, Oct 2(UNI) Former Lok Sabha Speaker and NCP leader P A Sangma today ruled out his return to the Congress.
While speaking to newpersons here, Mr Sangma said he had no regrets and still stood by the stand -- that a foreigner should not become Prime Minister of the country -- which led the Congress and him both going their separate ways.
When pointed out that Sonia Gandhi had respected his sentiments by renouncing the premiership, Mr Sangma said he appreciated her gesture.
He reiterated that Sonia Gandhi is an Indian by 'citizenship' and not by 'blood'.
Asked if he is planning to return to the Congress now that his main objection was addressed, he said: ''I am not returning to the Congress and would rather retire from politics.'' UNI
