Monsoon was weak over North Interior Karnataka

Bangalore, Oct 2 (UNI) Following is the summary of observations recorded in weather office here at 0830 hrs today.

Monsoon was weak over North Interior Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at many places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over South Interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over North Interior Karnataka.

Honavar recorded heavy rainfall of 11 cms. Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Puttur 6, Bhatkal, Harihara 3 each, Kundapur, Bhagamandala 2 each, Mulki, Subramanya, Shirali, Holalur, Tyagarthi, Madikeri 1 each.

Maximum temperatures rose at most places over North Interior Karnataka, however fell at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and changed little over South Interior Karnataka. They were appreciably below normal at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and were normal over Interior Karnataka.

Minimum temperatures changed little and were normal over the State.

Bellary recorded highest maximum temperature of 32.5 degree celsius. Belgaum AP recorded lowest minimum temperature of 19.4 degree Celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Thursday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka, at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at most places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada districts. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over Chikmagalur, Kodagu, Hassan, Shimoga, Belgaum, Dharwad, Haveri districts and at isolated places over remaining districts of the Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Forecast for Bangalore city: Generally cloudy with one or two spells of rain/thundershowers.

Maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 28 and 21 degree celsius respectively.
