Kamaraj rule a reality if partymen fight unitedly: TNCC

Chennai, Oct 2 (UNI) Bringing back Kamaraj rule in Tamil Nadu would become a reality, if partymen, unitedly make sincere efforts, TNCC President M Krishnasamy said today.

Speaking after paying floral tributes to Congress stalwart and former Chief Minister K Kamaraj on the occasion of his 32nd anniversary of death, he said if all sections of partymen unitedly make efforts, the party could bring back Kamaraj rule in the State.

''Bringing back Kamaraj rule in the State is not something impossible. It required sincere efforts,'' the TNCC President said. Partymen should realise that Congress alone could provide a good governance in the State, he added.

At a function organised at the Sathyamurthy Bhavan, in connection with Gandhi Jayanthi, Mr Krishnasamy, along with senior leaders, including Union Minister E V K S Elangovan, Congress Legislature Party leader D Sudarsanam and Deputy Leader Yasoda paid tributes to the Father of Nation.

Addressing the function, US Consulate General David Hopper, paying rich tributes to the Father of Nation, said the world could defeat terrorism by following Mahatma Gandhi's message of non-violence.

Union Minister G K Vasan, led his supporters separately and garlanded the statues of Gandhi and Kamaraj and paid tributes to them. In a brief address, he said people should consider it as their duty to defeat terrorism and communalism.

Leaders of various political parties, including PMK leader G K Mani, BJP leader Su Thirunavukarasar, All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi leader Sarath Kumar and Dalit Panthers of India leader Thol Thirumavalavan paid their respects to Kamaraj by garlanding his statue.
