New Delhi, Oct 2 (UNI) India has strongly condemned the bombing incident in Male on September 29 and offered all assistance to the Maldives government in investigations and medical treatment of the injured in the explosion.
In response to a question, an External Affairs Ministry spokesman said late last night the explosion seemed to be designed to disturb the traditional peace and tranquility in the Maldives and impair the economic livelihood of its people.
''This incident seems designed to disturb the traditional peace and tranquility of the country and impair the economic livelihood of the people. Government of India stands ready to offer all assistance in investigation as well as medical assistance to the Government and the people of Maldives,'' the spokesman added.
A small home made device went off on September 29 in the National Museum compound in Maldives injuring 12 foreigners including two Japanese, two British and eight Chinese nationals.
