Srinagar, Oct 2 (UNI) The CRPF today launched a massive programme to save the world famous Dal Lake, the most attractive place for tourists in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
Inspector General of CRPF S K Singh launched the save Dal programme in which a large number of Eco Task Force of CRPF participated.
Mr Singh said besides this project, the CRPF has also launched other various Eco-friendly projects in the valley on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti today.
He said the Task Force personnel will undertake operation to clean the Dal Lake and also remove polythene and other garbage, the major threat to the water body.
Mr Singh added the drive to clean the Dal will continue along with Lakes and Waterway Development Authority (LAWDA).
The CRPF chief in Kashmir said it was the duty of everyone, including common people, to save this water body.
