Mumbai, Oct 2 (UNI) Some film actors have been questioned in connection with their participation in events organised by Iqbal Attarwala who has been arrested in a land grabbing case, police today said.
Speaking to reporters it Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria said, ''We have questioned some actors regarding their overseas tours and have asked them to show documents for cross verification by us.'' The actors have also been asked to submit any agreements if they have signed in regard to tours organised by Attarwala, Mr Maria said.
He, however, refused tio divulge the names of the actors.
Mr Maria clarified that the actors have been questioned in connection with overseas tours that were allegedly organised by Attarwala and not in connection with the land grabbing case for which Attarwala was deported.
Attarwala is allegedly a henchman of underworld fugitive Dawood Ibrahim and was recently deported from Dubai in connection with a land grabbing case in Malad here.
Earlier, the crime branch sleuths had also questioned actor, producer and event manager Sohail Khan who had reportedly given vital information about Bollywood and underworld nexus to crime branch officials.
Mr Maria said he had asked for the income tax returns of the actors who have been questioned by the crime branch officials.
