Ranchi, Oct 1 (UNI) Congress Working Committee member and new in-charge of Jharkhand Ajay Maken today said Chief Minister Madhu Koda will have to find out ways to tackle two major issues -- to check corruption and enhance pace of development in the state.

In a stern warning to the one-year-old Koda government, the Congress, which is giving outside support, said if the government wanted the party's backing, the Chief Minister would have to deliver the goods.

Mr Maken during his maiden visit here as in-charge of the state last night called on Mr Koda to express his party's concern over the rampant corruption and lack of development.

''I have told the Chief Minister to find out ways to improve as the UPA's misgovernance would project the Congress as bad performer among public,'' Mr Maken said at a news conference here.

'' The Chief Minister explained his position, (which was not disclosed) but the Congress leaderhip would take decision only after submission of my report,'' he said.

Earlier in the day the CWC member had extensive discussion with party's workers at all levels mainly to know whether they were happy with the present Congress-backed UPA government in Jharkhand.

The Congress allegation was that the party workers were undermined and there was no development leading to the party's bad impression among the public.

The Koda government must work on the two issues with priority, he said but refused to give any specific time frame for the same.

'' We will monitor the government's performance seriously as the people largely expect a lot from the Congress,'' he said.

Mr Maken was shceduled to leave or Orissa this evening and then return to New Delhi on Thursday.
