Port Blair, Oct 1 (UNI) Two cases of murder have been reported from the South Andaman region within one week.
Out of the two cases, police have solved the first case, where a lady had murdered fisherman Ajit Toppo of a remote South Andaman village, allegedly for her self-defence.
Sources today said Ms Victoria, who was arrested yesterday, told police that the deceased had entered her house with wrong intentions under the influence of alcohol and that she had to kill him for self-defence.
In another case, Mohan Lal, an employee of PBMC, was murdered on Friday night. ''A case has been registered and further investigation is on,'' police said.
Though cases of poaching and suicide are common in these far flung islands, incidents of murders are rare, sources added.
