Sack TN Government and T R Baalu from the Cabinet : Rajnath
New Delhi, Oct 1 (UNI) Stating that Supreme Court observation that there was a 'constitutional breakdown' in Tamil Nadu was a ''serious development'', the BJP today demanded sacking of the State Government and Union Shipping Minister T R Baalu for contempt of Court.
Articulating the party's demand, BJP President Rajnath Singh said that after these adverse comments, the Tamil Nadu Government headed by M Karunanidhi had no right to be in office even for a minute. Similarly Mr Baalu's comments on Judiciary was an outrageous act and he should be dropped from the Union Council of Ministers.
If Prime Minister Manmohan Singh doesn't sack him, than he the complicity of the attack on the judiciary will not end with merely DMK party but the entire UPA, Prime Minister and his Cabinet, Mr Singh remarked.
He said the Chief Minister's attack on Rama and his believers was an attack on cultural, federal and constitutional framework. Dr Singh should exhibit courage to act against the erring minister and uphold the rule of law, he said.
