Guwahati, Sep 30 (UNI) The ULFA today triggered three blasts, killing three persons and damaging a crude pipeline.
The incidents took place in Tinsukia district of Upper Assam between 1845 hours to 2000 hours, the police source said. At least 40 persons were injured.
The first blasts took place at Doomodoma and the next one at Tinsukia town while the third blast at Tengkhat.
Police confirmed that all the blasts were caused by ULFA. The blasts in Tengakhat damaged the pipeline carrying crude and crude supply to the refineries had been disrupted.
The Doomdoma blast was the most powerful, which left one dead and at least 40 persons injured. The second blasts occurred at Debiapukhuri of Tinsukia town killing two.
The blasts broke after about 40 days of lull, when the ULFA' striking force 28 Battalion faced series of setbacks including the arrest of their commander Prabal Neog.
