New Delhi, Oct 1 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for signing of an agreement between India and the Philippines on the abolition of visa requirement for the holders of diplomatic and official passports.
The Agreement would be signed during the visit of the President of the Philippines to India on October 5.
Among the salient features of the agreement is visaa-free travel for diplomatic and official passport holders while entering, transiting through and exiting from the territory of the other country.
A citizen of one country holding the said passport shall be allowed to stay in other country's territory for a maximum period of 30 days without a visa.
The Agreement does not exempt the holder of such a passport from the obligation of complying with the laws and regulations of the receiving contracting party.
Each country reserves the right to refuse the entry into, or terminate the stay in its territory Similar Agreements exist with 35 other countries.
