ERS extended in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Oct 1 (UNI) The Emergency Response Service (ERS), jointly launched by the Gujarat Government and the Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI), has been extended to thirteen more cities in Gujarat.

The service was earlier launched in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

With 20 more ambulances in the fleet of EMRI, the services have been extended to thirteen more cities, a press release here said.

An individual, requiring medical emergency, can call on the toll free number of 108.

EMRI CEO Venkat Changavalli said in the release, ''Forty ambulances now are fully deployed to handle any emergencies.'' The service plans to include a total of 134 ambulances in thirteen districts in Gujarat by the end of November to serve a population of 3 crore, the release added.
