Create awareness on medicinal plants: Pondy CM

Puducherry, Sep 30 (UNI) Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today stressed the need for creating awareness on medicinal plants among the public.

Speaking at a function after releasing a book on medicinal plants here, he asserted that medicinal plants need to be protected and hence, the administration had set up a garden for medicinal plants at Madagadippattu here.

Stating that best treatment was being given at the Government General Hospital here for which several equipment were purchased, the Chief Minister said the per-capita medical expenditure had gone up to Rs 1,072.

Eventhough the Indian system of medicine such as Siddha and Ayurveda would not give immediate cure, it had no side effects, he pointed out.

He also called up on the public to keep their household and environment hygienic to avoid diseases.
