Commission to probe allegations against former Minister
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 1 (UNI) Kerala today appointed a Commission under retired judge K K Narendran to probe the allegations against former Public Works Minister T U Kuruvilla regarding the land deal at Rajakumari in Idukki district.
The Government today issued the notification and the Commission had been requested to submit his report in three months, an official release said here.
Mr Kuruvila had to resign from the cabinet after a NRI businessman alleged that the Minister's family members failed to execute a deal for the sale of 50.52 acres of land in Idukki.
He was allegedly offered the land for the construction of resorts in the emerging tourist destination. Revenue authorities had also found that the land transaction by Mr Kuruvila's family members at Rajakumari Village was done dubiously after tampering with records and violating revenue rules.
