BJP disapproves of violence against peaceful protests
New Delhi, Oct 1 (UNI) Expressing concern over the unrest and upsurge in the protests in Myanmar, the BJP today said it strongly disapproved of the violence on peaceful protesters.
In a statement, BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said the government should refrain from harsh repressive measures and should restore normalcy at the earliest.
Priority should be given to ensure equitable settlement of pending issues and all contentious issues through amicable solutions.
In a related development, NDA Convenor and former Defence Minister George Fernandes and former Prime Minister I K Gujral held a solidarity demonstration at Jantar Mantar participated by several MPs of various political parties, leaders of cross sections of soceity and Budhist Monk.
