New Delhi, Oct 1: Bharti Airtel, country's largest mobile service provider, today said it has crossed the 50 million subscriber base.
''We are glad to say that the company has crossed the 50 million subscribers mark recently,'' company Joint Managing Director Akhil Gupta told reporters here.
The company has added half of its total subscribers that is 25 million during last 14 months, he added.
In August, Bharti Airtel had added 2.05 million new connections, taking its total customer base to 46.8 million, according to the Cellular Operators' Association of India (COAI) data.
Country's GSM-based telecom service providers added 5.95 million new connections subscribers in August, taking their total customer base in the country to 147.7 million from 141.7 million in July-end, COAI said.
