Barh, Oct 01 (UNI)Altogether 15 people were feared drowned in the Dagrain river when their boat capsized midstream near here in Patna district tonight.
According to reports, reaching district headquarters 20 people of the 35 passengers travelling in the boat swam to sefety, while 15 others remained missing so far.
Preliminary reports quoting Barh Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ashok Kumar Chowdhury, who is camping near the spot, said the mishap occurred when the countrymade boat was ferrying about 35 people from Patwaria Ghat to Darbe Bhador area on the other side of the mighty river when it caught in the swirling current and capsized immediately.
As such all the passengers fell into the river and went missing.
Soon a number of boats were pressed into service by the district adminisatration, but none could be rescued though the search operation was still continuing in the dark.
Incidentally, the river was flowing over danger mark for the past few days following incessent rain in the district.
