9 Officials of MC Jalandhar suspended

Chandigarh Oct 1 (UNI) The Punjab government has suspended two Municipal Town Planners (MTPs), four ATPs and three Building Inspectors of Municipal Corporation Jalandhar for their alleged negligence in the construction of a building which led to collapse during construction causing death of four labourers.

Disclosing this here today, a spokesman of the Local Bodies Department Punjab said the incident happened on 28th July 2007 at Civil Lines Jalandhar in which four labourers were buried under the debris of an under-construction building.In this regard, an enquiry was conducted in which nine officials belonging to MC Jalandhar were allegedly found guilty in their smooth conduct of duty.

The officers whose services have been placed under suspension are Mr. Tirlok Singh, MTP Jalandhar now at Bathinda and Mr Hemant Batra MTP Jalandhar now at Ludhiana, Mr. Ramesh Chabbra, Mr. Dharm Pal, Mr. Raj Kumar and Mr. Mohan Lal all ATPs Jalandhar, Mr. Rohit Sahota Mr. Balwinder Singh and Mr. Ajit Kumar all Building Inspectors at Jalandhar.
