Three criminals involved in Gohana murder case arrested

Chandigarh, Sep 30 (UNI) Haryana Police has succeeded in nabbing three hard core criminals who were allegedly involved in the murder of dalit leader Rakesh of Gohana last month, which had sparked off violent protest in the state.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Police said that the three criminals were arrested near Kharkhoda while they were planing for looting a Petrol Pump. The police had recovered one carbine, one 9mm Pistol and one local pistol from their possession.

The spokesman said that those who had been arrested included Shankar, Jaswinder and Ashok of Butana village, Bundal of Sonipat district and Bhardana village of Jhajjar respectively.

However, two others managed to run away from the spot after firing at police team. Extensive raids were being carried out to nab them at their possible hideouts. The escaped were Dinesh of Khanda village of Sonipat and Prahlad of Chudani village in Jhajjar, the spokesman said.

An FIR had been registered against all these youth under the Indian Panel Code and Arms Act and investigations were in progress.
