Jaipur, Sep 30(UNI) A Jat congregation organised here today by Rajasthan Jat Mahasabha favoured floating of a viable third alternative to keep the ruling BJP and the Congress at bay.
A Political resolution adopted at the convention expressed its anguish over atrocities allegedly meted out by the Vasundhara Raje Government against farmers during its four-year-long regime and urged President Pratibha Devisingh Patil to dismiss the government and impose president's rule in the state.
The resolution observed that the Rajasthan Jat Mahasabha had ousted the then Gehlot Government four years ago in protest against the latter's apathy to the Jats demand. However, after assuming the power in the state Vasundhara Raje Government had also adopted ''feudal style'' of functioning.
The resolution asked the Jat Mahasabha for maintaining keeping equal distance from BJP and Congress and explore the possibility of a third alternative which included formation of new political party for upholding the interests of Jats and other reserved category classes.
As many as ten resolutions were also adopted at the convention over different issues. People from various districts participated in the convention.
