NPCC urges NSCN militanst to revoke decrees on S C Jamir
Kohima, Sep 30 (UNI) The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has urged the proscribed NSCN-IM to withdraw the 'Azhas' (decrees) served against former Nagaland Chief Minister S C Jamir.
The outfit had also served such decrees against state Principal Secretary Altemtemshi Jamir, also the Agriculture Production Commissioner, alleging him to be anti-people and anti-national.
In a statement issued here yesterday, NPCC president Hokheto Sumi asserted that such declarations of the militant outfit would not benefit any individual or the society.
He said the Congress had been working since past many years to bring about peace and reconciliation among the Naga people adding that the party was against such notices.
''Such decrees will not affect the party in the forthcoming elections,'' Mr Sumi said.
