IGNOU, RCI join hands to help disabled
New Delhi, Sep 30 (UNI) To facilitate and empower the differently abled, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in association with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) is launching various extension training and education programmes across the country.
The 3-month awareness-cum-training programme for parents would be a self-viable initiative, which will promote and implement specially designed courses that would benefit people with various disabilities.
Through this joint effort, IGNOU will develop and design special education and rehabilitation programmes for multi-media distance learning, besides facilitating their delivery and certification.
Besides, the IGNOU and RCI would also launch BEd and MEd (Spl Edu) and PGPD (Spl Edu) programmes for areas where State Open Universities are not in function.
