DPA seeks support for TN bandh tomorrow

Puducherry, Sep 30(UNI) Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) functionaries led by the DMK Convenor R V Janakiraman here today went round the town seeking support for the bandh tomorrow to press for the speedy implementation of the Sethu Samudram Channel Project (SSCP).

In a mini-van fitted with loud-speaker, they sought the support of traders, transport owners, workers and the general public to make the bandh a sucess.

Leaders of the Pattali Makkal Katchi(PMK), including Parliamentary party leader and legislators, CPI, CPM and Dalit Panthers of India(DPI), were among others, who participated in the campaign.

Meanwhile, the bandh, if permitted by the Supreme Court would likely to be a near total one. The Government-owned Puducherry Road Transport Corporation sources announced that they would not ply their inter-state vehicles tomorrow in view of the bandh in Tamil Nadu.
