Hyderabad, Sep 29 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today instructed the Finance Department to release the state's share of honorarium for Anganwadi workers and helpers, relaxing the quarterly regulations.
Dr Reddy directed the Department to ensure that the Anganwadi employees received wages on the first of every month along with those on regular pay scales, a release said here.
The Chief Minister reviewed the functioning of the Women and Child Welfare Department and agreed to look into the issue of raising the honorarium of the Anganwadi workers and helpers.
There was already a proposal to enhance the honorarium by the Centre.
A separate meeting would be held to look into the issues of the Womens' Welfare Department, it added.
