Jammu, Sep 29 (UNI) In an effort to strengthen its vote-bank and gear up for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections slated some time next year, State BJP president Ashok Khajuria today called on newly-nominated 'prabharis' to strengthen the party to capture a minimum of 20 seats in the forthcoming polls.

''With anti-national and pro-autonomy and pro-self-rule elements doing everything possible to harm not only the national interests but also the interests of people of Jammu and Ladakh, the victory of the BJP in at least 20 Assembly constituencies is the national requirement,'' he emphasised.

Asserting that the state was passing through critical times, Mr Khajuria strongly urged the 'prabharis' to educate the public and help make an opinion against those who had been ''harming'' the nation and the state in general and Jammu and Ladakh and the minorities in particular.

He asked party 'prabharis' to prepare themselves for a full scale campaign aimed at obtaining a fully-empowered Provincial Council for the Jammu region.
