Tirumala, Sep 29 (UNI) In a bid to get the message of Annamacharya, a saint-poet, who composed more than 30,000 hymns of Lord Venkateswara, across the world, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams trust board today decided to celebrate 'Annamaiah Jayanthi' in London, California and Kuwait this year.
Board Chairman B Karunakara Reddy said the NRIs there would celebrate the Jayanti in coordination with the TTD.
As part of celebrations in the country, 108-feet statue of the saint would be installed at Thalapaka in Kadapa district, his birth place, at an estimated cost of Rs 2.90 crore.
Besides, the TTD would lay two double-lane roads Rajmpeta-Thalapakka and Srinivasamangapuram-Srivari Mettulu at a cost of Rs 3.50 crore.
The date of Jayanti celebrations would be decided later, he added.
