Silchar, Sep 29 (UNI) The whereabouts of three employees of Silchar-based construction firm Debojit Dev&Company remain unknown even after three days of being abducted.

The trio were kidnapped by suspected militants from Muktacherra near Harinagar in Cachar district of south Assam.

Police and CRPF are continuing their operation in areas bordering Cachar and North Cachar Hill district for the rescue of the kidnapped persons.

Police said a group of suspected militants on Thursday midnight raided the temporary office of the construction firm at Muktacherra, about 45 km from here and whisked away Samiran Suklabaidya(38), supervisor, Raju Khan(22), driver and Munna Kha(20), assistant driver of the farm at gunpoint.

The firm was engaged in the construction of two roads in the area under Prime Ministers' Gram Sadak Yojana(PMGSY), a scheme being implemented by the department of PWD(Roads).

Police were yet to identity the identity of the outfit involved in the kidnapping. However, official sources said the area is dominated by Dima Halam Daoga (Black Widow), Hmar Peoples Conference (Democratic) and NSCN(Isac-Muiva) militant outfits.

Apart from conducting operations in the forest areas, the police were also interrogating the firm's night gaurd Parimal Mahato.
