Hyderabad, Sep 28 (UNI) Alleging the Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) was trying to appease farmers by promising nine-hour power supply to them if it came to power in the next elections, Andhra Pradesh Energy and Minority Welfare Minister Mohd Ali Shabbir today said the TDP had lost confidence among the people of the state.

Addressing the press here, Mr Shabbir said the farmers were still facing problems in the state because of the 'lopsided' energy policies adopted during the previous TDP Regime in the state.

People and farmers would not believe in TDP and reject the party in the next elections also.

Stating the Congress-led state government was striving to streamline the power sector by reviving the APGENCO which was closed in the TDP rule, he said the government targeted 5000 MV power production from APGENCO in the next two years.
