President hosts Iftar party

New Delhi, Sep 28 (UNI) President Pratibha Devisingh Patil today hosted an Iftar party at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the occasion of the ongoing holy month of Ramzan.

Among those who attended the party were Vice-President Hamid Ansari, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Home Minister Shivraj Patil and some of his Cabinet colleagues, including Mr H R Bhardwaj (Law) and Mr Raghuvansh Prasad Singh (Rural Development), Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and heads of prominent Muslim organisations.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh did not attend the party as he is recovering from a recent operation.

On the menu were mutton biryani, murgh khorma, mutton shammi kebab, fish Amritsari, mutton stew, vegetable biryani, paneer makhni, mixed vegetable, dal bukhara, usual naan, shirmal naan, Meerutwali roti (for which a cook had been brought from Meerut), gulab jamun and badam khirni.
