New Delhi, Sep 28 (UNI) Music maestro Khayyam will be conferred the prestigious Lata Mangeshkar award for 2007 in the Capital on October 26.
Khayyam would receive the award from Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh at the Mavlankar Hall on the evening of October 26, a release by the Maharashtra information centre said.
Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit would be a special invitee at the function where Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, state cultural affairs minister Ashok Chavan and Union Ministers representing Maharashtra would also be special guests.
A cultural evening with rendition of popular compositions of Khayyam will be held on the occasion.
This is the second time that the Capital would witness this function organised by the directorate of cultural affairs in Mumbai with active participation of all Maharashtra mandals in and around Delhi.
