Chandigarh, Sep 28 (UNI) State Bank of Mysore defeated PCA Colts by four wickets in the second semi-final of the 14th All India J P Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament at the PCA Cricket Stadium in Mohali today.
State Bank of Mysore will now take on MRF, Chennai in the day-night final on September 30 at PCA Cricket Stadium, Mohali.
In the second semi-final, State Bank of Mysore won the toss and opted to field. PCA Colts' innings began on a disastrous note as their two top order batsmen were sent back to pavilion even without opening their account, with the scoreboard reading 2 for 2. Sunny Sohal, in company of Tanmeet Bawa, added 48 runs of 72 balls to stem the rot. Tanmeet Bawa (21) was dismissed by medium pacer Aravind.
Manish Bhatia (12) holed out at long of Vijay Madialkar at a total of 106 for 5 in 31.3 overs.
At the fall of Bhatia's wicket in-form batsman Chandan Madan stepped in and was rotating strike at his will. A wrong call from Chandan Madan saw Sunny Sohal dismissed run out by Manjunath. Sunny Shoal contributed 56 runs off 107 balls with the help of 2 boundaries.
