Jaipur, Sep 28 (UNI) The BJP today categorically opposed the idea of any reduction in the army presence in insurgency hit Jammu and Kashmir and said that instead of reducing the army presence, deployment should be strengthened five fold.
Speaking at the national convention of the Bharatiya Janta Yuwua Morcha here today BJP President Rajnath Singh said that terrorism was still posing a serious threat to Jammu Kashmir and bordering areas along Indo-Bangladdesh border.
He said that a top Army official in his latest report had warned that about 5,000 militants were waiting across the Indo-Pak border for making abid to infiltrate into Indian territory.
He said that Anti-Indian militant actities were also being fulled from Bangladesh, a nation created by Indian forces, he claimed, addeding Pakistani intelligence agency ISI was the source of inspiration for these anti Indian forces.
Accusing the Manmohan Singh Government of soft-handling of terrorism, Mr Singh said that terrorists were infiltrating into India from neighbouring countries and the UPA government was busy preparing for a dialogue with these countries and forces.
He also condemned the regime for revocation of POTA without adopting equally stern alternative and charged the government's policies with boosting the morale of subversive forces.
He also condemned UPA Government's ineffective diplomacy and said that presently the country was having stained relations with most of its neighbours, including China and this should be an issue of concern for our foreign policy.
