Barabanki, Sep 28 (UNI) Denouncing both Congress and BJP for handling the Ram Sethu issue with a wrong approach, Principal Opposition Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today alleged while the former was misleading people through double standards, the latter was encouraging communalism.
''Both Congress and BJP are handling the Ram Sethu issue with a wrong approach. While BJP like always is using all its energy to spread communalism, Congress befooling the masses through double standards,'' Mr Yadav maintained while talking to reporters at an Iftar function here.
''No one can challenge the existence of Lord Ram, who is Maryada Purshottam. The ignoramous people challenging His existence are showcasing their deep knowledge of Indian culture,'' the former Defence Minister observed.
Inveighing the ruling Mayawati led-BSP government in UP, Mr Yadav alleged the law and order situation has worsened in her regime.
Cases of muder, loot, dacoity and rape have risen considerably.
Accusing the state police of being hand-in-glove with the government officials, the SP leader charged ''both are busy looting people.'' ''SP wants to give people a state free of Bhay, Brashtachar, Anyaye and Atyachar (fear, corruption, injustice and atrocity).
The party has betenoire for injustice and always ready to be on streets to protest for public cause,'' he asserted.
He added ''I as a UP CM never worked with pet aversion. Sadly, Mayawati got 10,000 SP workers booked with an aforesaid malice.'' UNI
