Chandigarh Admn.to honour, Yuvraj, Rajpal, Baljit and Jaswinder

Chandigarh, Sep 28 (UNI) The Chandigarh Administration will honour Yuvraj Singh, hockey stars Rajpal Singh, Baljit Singh and Jaswinder Singh with Administrator's Gold Medal. Punjab Governor and Union Territory Administrator, General (Retd.) S F Rodrigues will felicitate them at a function to be held shortly.

Yuvraj Singh was a member of Indian cricket team, which recently won Twenty-20 Cricket World Cup and Rajpal Singh, Baljit Singh and Jaswinder Singh were members of the Indian hockey Team, which won the Asia Cup, held at Chennai recently.

These players either belong to Chandigarh or have been associated with the union territory. The honour carries a cash award of Rs one lakh each.

In order to encourage all sports, the Chandigarh Administration has been creating sports infrastructure in the city so that Chandigarh may produce sportspersons of best international standards, who can won laurels for the country.
