Puducherry,Sept 28(UNI)AIADMK Puducherry unit Secretary A Anbazhagan, MLA today demanded that the municipality and commune panchayat Act 1973 should be amended.

He said at the Mannadipet commune panchayt, 12 out of 16 councillors had given a complaint agains the panchayat President Sugumaran for his widespreaded corruption and the panchayat council meeting could not be convened to remove him because of the Act.
Such a situation already arose at Thirunallar also. If the government failed to amend the Act in the nbext session of the legislative assemby, the AIADMK would organise agitations, he warned.
He said the AIADMK had been brining to light with evidence, the corrouption in the administration. Now the ruling party's MP V Narayansamy had followed suit.
Pointing it out that Mr Narayansamy had given a complaint to the Lt.Governor seeking a CBI probe into the alleged corrouption in the construction of the government medical college building, Mr.Anbazhagan demanded that Mr.Narayanasamy should make the lettter public.
On Mr.Valsaraj's statement yesterday that the government would modify the scheme to reimburse the tuition fees for medical and engineering college students, Mr.Anbazghan demanded that any change in the scheme would be decided only after a discussion in the legislative assembly.
