Chandigarh, Sep 28 (UNI) The Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (HSFDC) has set a target to assist 17,000 beneficiaries by providing them financial assistance under various schemes during the current financial year so as to enable them take up income generating activities.
Haryana Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Kartar Devi said that 2721 beneficiaries had already been assisted up to August during the current financial year by providing them a financial assistance of Rs 9.55 crore, including about Rs 2.47 crore as subsidy.
Ms Kartar Devi said the beneficiaries were being given financial assistance in the areas of agricultural and allied sector, industrial sector, trade and business and professional and self employment sector.
She said the schemes of agricultural and allied sector for which financial assistance could be availed included dairy farming, sheep rearing, piggery farming, purchase of jhota buggi, camel cart and mule cart.
She said that under the professional and self employment sector, financial assistance could be availed for taking up legal profession, purchase of light commercial vehicle, car taxi (diesel five seaters), auto rickshaw (diesel), jeep taxi (ten seater) and also under the scheme for financing women for setting up of beauty parlours and boutiques.
