Temperatures decline after more snow in HP

Shimla, Sep 27 (UNI) Temperatures continue to fall in Himachal Pradesh due to fresh spell of intermittent snow in higher reaches of Kinnuar district and isolated rains at a few places of the state overnight, the met office said today.

Higher reaches of Kinnuar district experienced fresh spell of mild intermittent snowfall for the fourth consecutive night, while light showers lashed the lower areas of the district.

The met office said more snow clouds are hovering over the district and there was a possibility of another spell of fresh snowfall during the evening or night.

However, the sky was mainly clear over the other tribal districts of Lahaul Spiti, Chamba and Kullu, where minimum and maximum temperatures continue to fall due to snow early this week.

A clear sky and bright sunshine greeted the people of Shimla town this morning after several days before thicks clouds covered the sky by afternoon.

The continuing overcast conditions in the state capital have plummeted minimum temperature to 12.4 degrees from 12.7 degree Celsius recorded yesterday, the met office said.

However, it said, the day temperature at Shimla rose by a few notches to 20.8 degree from yesterday's high of 19.6 degree Celsius.

Sundernagar, Bhuntar and Dharamshala recorded night temperatures of 20, 16.9 and 18 degree Celsius and day temperatures of 29.4, 30.2 and 24 degree Celsius, it said.

The minimum at Kalpa in Kinnuar fell a few notches 4.5 degree as against 4.7 degree Celsius recorded yesterday.

The met office has forecast light to moderate rain at isolated places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
