Rolls-Royce says BA engine deal worth up to $ 5 bln
LONDON, Sept 27 (Reuters) Rolls-Royce said on Thursday it had won engine orders from British Airways that could be worth up to billion at list prices after the airline announced it would buy planes from Airbus and Boeing Co.
The order includes 12 firm and seven options on the Airbus A380 superjumbo and 24 firm orders and 18 options on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner scheduled for delivery from 2010.
The Rolls-Royce Trent 900 powers the Airbus A380 and enters service next month, the company said in a statement.
Its Trent 1000 engine is built for the 787 and will power the plane's first flight scheduled later this year.
