Rizwanur's relatives file writ petition before Calcutta HC

Kolkata, Sep 27 (UNI) Relatives of Rizwanur Rahman, who was found dead near a city station junction, today filed a writ petition before Calcutta High Court seeking CBI inquiry into his death.

The petition had been filed by Rizwanur's brother, Rukbanur Rahman, and his mother, who alleged that he had been murdered.

Their lawyer Kalyan Banerjee today mentioned the case before the bench of Justice Soumitro Sen who, directed him to file a formal petition before the court.

Mr Banerjee told UNI that the petition was filed this afternoon and is scheduled to be heard tomorrow.

Rizwanur Rahman, a 30-year-old computer graphics teacher, who married Priyanka Todi, daughter of Ashok Todi, owner of Lux Hosiery Industries, was found dead by the railway tracks between Dum Dum and Bidhanagar stations on September 21. His family alleged that his in-laws were threatening him to divorce his wife since the day they got married in August.
