New Delhi, Sep 27 (UNI) National Fertilizers Ltd (NFL), leading producer of nitrogenous fertilizers in the country, declared a dividend of Rs 52.83 crore for the financial year 2006-07 at its 33rd Annual General Meeting held here today.
The Government holds 97.64 per cent shares and major portion of this dividend will go to the government.
During 2006-07, the company reported a net profit of Rs 176.10 crore.
NFL produced 33.51 lakh metric tonnes of urea by recording a capacity utilisation of 103.7 per cent.
While highlighting the achievements, Mr G S Mangat, Chairman and Managing Director, NFL informed that the company is continuously innovating fertilizer technology to help the farming community. NFL's initiative in developing neem-coated urea has received encouraging response in the market. This is, indeed, an example of conscious efforts by the company to help the farming community in balancing oil nutrient and increase crop production.
The company operates five urea plants in the country with a total annual installed capacity of urea at 32.31 lakh metric tonnes.
NFL also produces certain industrial products including methanol, sulphur, carbon dioxide, sodium nitrite/ nitrate argon, ammonium nitrate etc.
