Bhopal, Sep 27 (UNI) The Akhil Bharatiya Mahila Peedit Sangharsh Morcha, a unique organisation for men victimised by women, has demanded formation of a National Commission for Men on the lines of the National Commission for Women.
''Men are feeling insecure due to misuse of special legal rights by women. Fabricated cases of harassment for dowry, eve-teasing, physical and mental victimisation -- for trapping men -- are on the rise. Men of every social segment are falling victim,'' Morcha Convenor Shoaib Azam Khan Salfi claimed in a statement issued here today.
If this went unchecked, then several men would be afraid to marry and that might endanger social equilibrium. The Morcha was formed here on September 9 to tackle the problem effectively. Its objective was not only to provide justice, ensure rights and respect for men but also to check misuse of women's rights.
''The Morcha is not anti-woman but favours equality between sexes,'' he added.
''We have received several open and secret complaints from men and legal steps are being taken,'' said Mr Salfi.
