Shivpuri(MP), Sep 27: Police has registered a case against prominent Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia last night under section 506 IPC for making provocative speech in the wake of a dispute between Congress workers and supporters of Rashtriya Samanata Dal MLA Harivallabh Shukla over inaugurating a road construction work in Shivpuri district.

Cases had also been registered against Mr Scindia's personal assistant Ramesh Sharma and his few supporters on the complaint of Mr Shukla and others for holding out threat and atrocities under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Atrocities (Prevention) Act.

Earlier, on the complaint of Mr Scindia's supporters, police registered cases against Mr Shukla and his supporters.

The dispute arose as Mr Shukla, who was scheduled to preside over, laid the foundation stone of road construction under the PMGSY at Naraiyakhedi and Echwara villages in Pohri area of Shivpuri district yesterday even before the arrival of Mr Scindia, who was the chief guest. The Congress leader turned up more than two hours late.

The agitated Congress workers caused damage to the vehicle of Mr Shukla, whose supporters also retaliated by uprooting the foundation stone having Mr Scindia's name.

Mr Shukla was elected to the Assemblyfrom Pohri in 2003 on Rashtriya Samanata Dal ticket. He, however, later unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha election against Mr Scindia from Guna constituency on BJP ticket.
