'Man Mission to Moon' by 2014: Nair

Hyderabad, Sep 27 (UNI) Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman G Madhavan Nair today said ISRO was planning a 'Man Mission to Moon' by the end of 2014.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Nair said the mission required developed technology and human resources. The ISRO had started work on it last year and was preparing a report for submission to the government at the earliest.

Stating that at least Rs 10,000 crore was required towards technology development and providing facilities for astronauts, he said ''we will also seek other space agencies' cooperation in developing the technology for the mission.'' Inviting space scientists to submit their proposals to take up a 'Mars Mission,' Mr Nair said the ISRO would constitute a committee to study the proposals and the decision would be taken after reviewing them.
