New Delhi, Sep 27 (UNI) Music reaches its glory when practiced with discipline and devotion.
The classical discipline of Mathama Gandhi has inspirational value for the music loving generation of youths.
This theme inspired the renowned Sarod player Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and the Sare Gama to come up with a music album 'Remembering Mahatma Gandhi.' Ayaan Ali Khan and Amaan Ali Khan, the two sons of Ustad, have translated the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi into music to reach out to the youths.
Speaking on the launch of Saregama India Ltd's album 'Remembering Mahatma Gandhi'at Gandhi Smriti here today, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan said,''This album is my tribute to one of the greatest men of our country on the occasion of Non Violence Day.'' United Nations has decided to observe World Non Violence Day on the coming October 2-Mathama Gandhi's 138th birth anniversery.
Talking to UNI, Amaan Ali said it is an honour as a member of young generation to contribute in such an album. '' Humbleness and Discipline is a prerequsite for practicising classical music, and Mahatma Gandhi personify both the qualities. Music is a way through which we can spread the ideals of this great man." Talking on the hard earned freedom Ayaan Ali said, '' We often forget the virtue of being free and forget those who fought for freedom, this album is a rememberance of Gandhi for youths.'' Launching the Album, Member of Parliament and President of Indian Council of Cultural Relation Dr Karan Singh remembered how Mahatma Gandhi mobilised the masses for a non-violent struggle.
While talking to UNI on larger scene of classical music in India the two young musicians and vocalists showed their hope that the times are very good for spreading the classical music among the youths.
''With the coming of corporate world in the classical music the scenario has changed a lot, now there is a more money and a classical musician or a performer can hope for a decent life,'' added Amaan.
Commenting on the making of the album, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, said '' Most of the Indians are aware of Raghupati Raghav Rajaram, Vaishnav Jan To, Hum Honge Kamyaab, Vande Matram and we decided to use these songs for the album to forge connection with audience.'' The Album contains Raghupati Raghav Rajaram, Vaishnav Jan To, Hum Honge Kamyaab, Vande Matram, Ekla Cholo Re and Payoji Maine. On Sarod Ustad Amjad Ali Khan has played his magic, while Amaan and Ayaan are both on vocal and sarod.
