Gwalior, MP, Sep 27 (UNI) The 37th all India junior women hockey championship will be held here from September 30.
Organised by Indian Women Hockey Federation (IWHF) and Madhya Pradesh government, the championship will witness 32 teams in action.
BJP MP Yashodhara Raje Scindia, Sports and Youth Welfare Director Sanjay Choudhary and Madhya Pradesh Women Hockey Academy Incharge Madhavi Sharma told reporters here that the championship, being organised for the first time in the state, would be inaugurated by IWHF General Secretary Amrita Bose.
The Indian team for Asia Cup will be selected during the championship, the final of which is slated on October 10.
Besides Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Maharashta, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Mizoram, Orissa, Mumbai, Tripura, Manipur, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Air India are prominent participants.
