Ahmedabad, Sep 27 (UNI) Getting into top gear ahead of the assembly elections, the ruling BJP in Gujarat has decided to hold 900 sammelans in 161 Nagarpalikas in 25 districts of the state between September 28 to October 10, to apprise the deprived sections of society about the various development programmes initiated by the government for their uplift.
The party has decided to take its 'Vanchitona Vikasni Yatra' (developmental procession for deprived) to every district of the state, Gujarat BJP secretary, Jayantibhai Barot told mediapersons here today.
Mr Barot said these schemes, initiated for the deprived, include Vanbandhu, Sagarkhedu, Chiranjeev, Urban Poor Developmental yojna, and Kanya Kelavni.
The programmes, to be conducted in two phases between September 28 and October 10, would be organised under the leadership of 93 leaders divided into 31 teams. Each team would have one minister, a senior leader and a local senior leader, Mr Barot added.
